Sheena Evans (Vocalist) was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia and began singing at 3 years old. Sheena graduated from Georgia College & State University in 2005. In 2006, she auditioned for TBN’s “Gifted” – An American Idol style talent search for Christian musicians – and out of 16,000 individuals, was one of eight finalists chosen and featured on a compilation project for the competition. The project was released by EMI/Sparrow in 2007, which included her featured single “Forever”.Her natural gift as a singer, as well as her diligence in developing a flexible, and skillful voice has led her to local, national, and international stages – performing background vocals for well known Gospel artists such as Tasha Cobbs, Darwin Hobbs, Earnest Pugh, Monica Lisa Stevenson, Casey J and countless others. Since 2012, she has graced the stage in musical productions such as “Jazzy Soulful Christmas”, “EBC Christmas Special”, “The Question: Just for Me” and “Freed”. She currently serves as a Site Director at Elizabeth Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. She declares, in accordance to Isaiah 6:8: “Send Me, I’ll go!”

Zaviel Janae, affectionately known as Janae Smith, has traveled all over the United States and overseas as a supporting act of Darwin Hobbs, Richard Smallwood, Ted Winn, Kirk Franklin, Darlene McCoy, Lowell Pye and Mariah Carey. For nearly a decade now, Zaviel Janae has been an accomplished background singer for several Gospel icons. In January 2015, she released her debut album ‘Here I Am’ that features appearances from Darlene McCoy, Lowell Pye, and Aaron Sanders. Zaviel Janae is now traveling all over the world as the CEO and founder of Zaviel Janae Enterprises, LLC, a ministry dedicated to help people unleash their abilities to love themselves, believe in themselves, and experience true freeness in Life.

Eric Moore (Pastor Bridgewater/Griot) is an Atlanta, Georgia native and began singing professionally in 1986 and has worked extensively as a vocalist, musical director, songwriter, and music producer. Timothy Jenkins is excited to re-join the cast of Black Nativity, Timothy is an Augusta, GA native who is no stranger to the stage. He has toured and performed with the Morgan State University Choir, The Jeremy Winston Chorale, The Czech National Symphony Orchestra, Trey McLaughlin and SOZ, and many more. Traveling to South Africa, Prague, and many other countries in Europe, he has gained much experience in music and education. His most cherished career moment was performing for President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. “I just thank God I’m able to put a smile on somebody’s face with this gift he’s given me.” He dedicates his show run to his grandmother.

Kelsie Broughton is an independent gospel/inspirational artist and Georgia native who has had the privilege of being a part of several productions; Season 1 & 3 of OWN Network’s Greenleaf; Tyler Perry’s Studio Opening Weekend (2008), Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, Tyler Perry’s I Can Do Bad All By Myself, Walmart’s Holiday Commercial (2015), Kenny Leon’s True Colors Workshop for “The First Noel” (2017), and Dominion Entertainment Group LLC’s 2014 and 2016 production of Black Nativity. Kelsie has also been privileged to sing behind artists such as Dorothy Norwood, Karen Clark Sheard, Marvin Winans, Yolanda Adams, Maurette Brown Clark , Richard Smallwood, Bishop Paul Morton, and Gladys Knight. In 2014 Kelsie also released her first 2 singles “From My Heart” as an independent recording artist. “I am so excited to be returning to the Dominion Entertainments Group’s production of Black Nativity.”

Stephan is no stranger to the stage. His dance training includes Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, Dance Theater of Harlem, Paul Taylor and the Martha Graham School. Although, his Black Nativity journey started In 1999, where he performed his first leading role with Penumbra Theater and performed with the show for three consecutive years, his best years have been with Dominion Entertainment for the past 7+ years. Other credits include: Stage: Cirque du Soleil’s O (Las Vegas), Celine Dion’s A New Day (Las Vegas), Preacher’s Kid Resurrection (Atlanta). Television: A Married to Medicine, The Braxton Family Values, and Housewives of Atlanta. Movies: Bessie starring Queen Latifah, World’s Away Directed by James Cameron, and Bolden starring Gary Carr and Robert Ri’chard. And most recently, he went back to school to earn his PhD in Expressive Therapies, where he will continue to use the arts as a means of healing and understanding. He Thanks God for the many blessings.

Shoccara (Dancer), is self-described as, “Dancer first. Photographer second.” Her relationship with dance started at an early age and on to the dance program at Tri-Cities Visual & Performing Magnet High School under the direction of Dawn Axam and then to Howard University where she received her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Dance. At Howard she trained under renowned instructor such as Assane Konte, Kathy Smith, Pat Thomas, Sandra Fortune-Green, the late Dr. Sherrill Berryman-Johnson and was fortunate to intern with Dallas Black Dance Theater (DBDT), Dayton Contemporary Dance Company (DCDC). Her development of artistry continues as she has recently obtained her Master of Fine Art degree in Photography from Savannah College of Art and Design (Atlanta), established her photography company, Shocphoto Imagery LLC, exhibited photography nationally and internationally, and is a member of Axam Dance Theatre Experience (ADTE). This is Shoccara’s 7th year performing in Black Nativity and she is more than grateful to be a vessel on HIS stage.

Veronica Silk (Mary), is a professional dancer, choreographer, and educator residing in Atlanta, GA. She graduated from New World School of the Arts where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Summa Cum Laude from University of Florida in April of 2012. After graduating Veronica had the honor of working three seasons with Augusto Soledade Brazzdance, a Contemporary/Afro-Brazilian company based in Miami, FL. Since moving to Atlanta in 2015, Veronica Silk quickly started gaining traction in the Atlanta dance community as a freelance dancer and choreographer. Dancing with Atlanta Dance Collective, Dawn Axam Dance Theater Experience, Victor Jackson, Dance Canvas, and The Atlanta Opera.  Her passion for dance has allowed her to travel, perform, and teach in such places as Prague, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Los Angeles and New York. Veronica Silk has been able to channel all of her incredible dance experiences into her teaching. Imparting the wisdom she has learned onto her students at Woodward Academy located in College Park, GA and  Just Dance Studio in Douglasville GA. Veronica is thrilled to be returning for her fourth year in Black Nativity, this time in the role of Mary.

Jelani Akil Jones (Dancer) is a proud graduate of Tri-Cities High School of Visual and Performing Arts Magnet Program in East Point, Georgia. He studied ballet and theatre at The College Conservatory of Music at The University of Cincinnati . He has performed with several companies both national and international such as the Alliance Theater, Atlanta Opera, True Colors Theater Company, Horizon Theater Company , Freddie Hendricks Youth Ensemble of Atlanta, Northern Kentucky Ballet Theatre , Cincinnati Ballet and Axam Dance Theatre Experience . He also is an accomplished choreographer and dancer who has had the privilege of studying dance at the Alvin Ailey School in New York, Atlanta Ballet, Total Dance Theatre, Ballethnic and Dayton Contemporary Dance Company. He was one of the featured choreographers for the Atlanta Concert Dance Canvas in 2009 and 2010 under the direction of Angela Harris and Lift 2012 under the direction of Darryl Foster. He has been in several films such as Remember the Titans, Drumline, Stuck on Broke, and I Can Do Bad All By My Self. He recently was assistant director and assistant choreographer for Theatrical Outfits production of Five Guys Named Moe.

Avree is a graduate of the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts. Avree attended the University of Nevada Las Vegas as a dance scholar, representing the department in South Korea, Canada, Europe and though out the U.S. Avree became an artist with the Las Vegas Contemporary Dance Theatre (Contemporary West Dance Theatre) under the direction of Bernard H. Gaddis, touring and performing works by Alvin Ailey, Ulysses Dove, Elisa Monte, Rennie Harris, Milton Myers, Zane Booker, Hope Boykin and many others. Regional: DreamGirls, Once on This Island, The Color Purple, Black Nativity (Las Vegas),Music Man, Spamalot, The Wiz,  Cinderella, Matilda the Musical (Regional Premiere) & The Prince of Egypt the Musical (Dreamworks). Avree joined the cast of Donn Arden’s Jubilee! At Bally’s Las Vegas from 2015-2016. Avree is currently in the cast of Vegas! The Show on the Las Vegas Strip. Instagram:@avree14
